Google Adwords Advice for the Faint of Heart to generate sales leads

The name of the online game is generating sales leads. The fastest way to do this is with Google adwords! But, does the thought of going up against the Google giant got you quaking in your boots?

For many, the infamous google slap brings up images of monsters out of a horror movie.

But here is the real point to consider. Everything new on the internet seems intimidating. But once you get in there and do it, you wonder what the big deal was in the first place.

For instance, the idea of writing an ebook seemed like taking on a marathon or even the ironman. But I overcame the challenge and now have written 2 ebooks and I thought it was quite alot of fun.

All right, not as much fun as going wine tasting and siping on those awesome pinot noirs from the Willamette Valley that my husband and I love so much.

You know those big burgundian wines (like the ones produced by Archery Summit - my personal favorite winery, which, of course, is the most expensive winery in our region) that linger on your palate for a lifetime.

Imagine this: one of those big reds swirling in the glass, got to get as much nose to get the full measure of taste before chasing it with a bite of grass fed lamb mignon that melts in your mouth and creamy roasted garlic yukon gold mashed potatoes and a salad of freshly picked baby greens with goat cheese and  roasted hazelnuts (these too are local to our region).

I can still taste it now! My mouth is watering.

O.K. writing the ebook wasn't that much fun!

But, I learned alot and now my confidence level has soared and I feel like I'm soaring overhead with the eagles. This reminds me of a run while on vacation on Whidbey Island, WA. Overhead came a huge eagle that had his talons firmly gripping a bunny rabbit. As sad as it was for the rabbit, it was majestic to witness a once in a lifetime glimpse of this sight.

Back to the matter at hand.

So learning google adwords can be overcome just like any other challenge and it will help you grow personally and you can bet your business, especially your leads list will grow exponentially. In less than a months time, I was able to generate over a hundred leads. This I did on a beer budget.

Let's face it blogging, article writing and video marketing are important components of your online presence but lead generation using only these methods can be painstakingly slow... as slow as molasses.

Generate Sales leads with Social Media Syndication

Your goal in your online business is to generate the highest number of sales leads possible and  then convert those leads into paying customers.

It used to be that the best way to do this was by optimizing your website, blog, articles, videos so google would love them using highly searched keywords. Also, creating inbound links would also get you the attention of Google.

Here is an example of syndication with article marketing. I posted an article on fat loss on the internet at ezine articles. The article was properly optimized and within a few weeks the article had the first spot for my keyword.

The article was then picked up by several other article marketing sites and could be found all over the internet. It had several thousand reads and because it had a link to a video on youtube, my video also got several thousand views.

This is the best of syndication. We all dream this will happen to us.

Target Marketing to Generate Sales Leads

Target marketing is the process of identifying the group of people that you will be marketing your products to to generate sales leads. To do this effectively, you must be clear about who your audience is. You must be able to answer the following questions:

• What are their concerns?
  
• What is their pain?
  
• What keeps them awake at night?
  
• What are they looking for?
  
• What problems do they have that need solving?
  
  Knowing the answers to these questions will enable you to speak directly to your audience, connect with them at a gut level and help them solve their problems. This will  result in an increased level of trust.
  
  More trust = improved likelihood that you will generate sales leads.
  
  Not knowing who your niche is is equal to trying to talk to everyone and talking to no one. This will lead to utter frustration and very little success.
  
  The key to your success online is to clearly identify who your target market is. Then you must learn where and how to connect with your target market.

Beginner Internet Marketer: Eat the Frog First or Move Big Rocks

In my last journal entry, I discussed the important foundations on which to build your beginner internet marketing business. Easier said then done! Undoubtedly, so you won't be surprised when obstacles get in your way. The biggest one is procrastination.

Learning how to overcome procrastination will be important to your success.

An effective strategy to use is to set priorities in your business.

At the end of each work day,  determine the top 3 tasks that need to be done the next day. Rank these in order of priority with the hardest being ranked highest. Then when you start your work day, tackle the top task on your list.

A procrastinator is someone who puts off unpleasant tasks. So tackling the most unpleasant task (eating the frog) gets it out of the way. Then you can feel like you accomplished something 'big' and the rest will be a breeze. The day can only get better.

This is much easier to do it at the close of your day since, you are in the swing of things.

By waiting to do this the next morning, it can be difficult to even remember what you were intending the previous day.

Plus, it takes off some of the pressure of what should I do today. It is already spelled out for you and off you can go. Nice continuity.

What if you aren't a procrastinator, but spend lots of time fussing over little tasks, so you are really busy all the time but never seem to get the important things done?

Reflect on the wisdom of the pickle jar. Try filling a jar with sand and then try adding big rocks to the jar.

It's impossible - there ain't no room!

Empty the jar. Now add the rocks in first and then the sand. The jar represents the time in your day. It is limited. The rocks are the most important tasks that will move your beginner internet marketing business forward. When you add those in first, funny how the menial, less important tasks still manage to get done.

The next time you notice that you don't seem to be getting donwhat you want to get done or you feel like you are spinning your wheels and going nowhere fast, ask yourself if you are prioritizing your tasks and doing the most important one first.

Keep a jar in your work area filled with the rocks and sand or a frog to remind you of the importance of prioritization in your beginner internet marketing business.

One of my favorite children's stories is the 3 Little Pigs. As you recall, each of the 3 little pigs built a house hoping to withstand the big bad wolf.

As the story goes the pig who built his house of brick was the only pig who could overcome the big bad wolf.

As a beginner internet marketer, many of the principles in this famous children's story apply to building a rock solid business that will withstand the floods, the rains and the storms that will threaten to tear down your business.

Some of the elements that will threaten the success of your beginner internet marketing business include:

• procrastination - This is where you don't see the need to do the things that will get your business on the right path. I'll wait until....I know more, etc.
  
  
• distraction - Getting distracted from your plan of action by all the enticing offers that exist on the Internet.
• wrong training - there are tons of worthy training programs out there, but that doesn't mean you should do them all. Knowing what trainig you need and when, can be a real challenge.

That foundation which is  built on rock (or bricks in this case) rather than on sand or straw will persist.

What does it take to build a stong foundation for your beginner internet business?

Let's look at what this looks like.

• Building your web of content - This can not be emphased enough since this is where you put out your fishing pole and attract people who are interested in what you have to offer. When you do this you must utilize good basics of SEO.
  
  You don't have to be an SEO expert. Knowing the basics will get the job done - that is, getting potential customers to your site (website or blog).
  
  
• Understanding who your target market is. If you aren't real clear about who your audience is you'll be unable to speak to their desires. Not connecting with them in terms that they can relate to will mean they won't hear you.
  
  
• Having your sales funnel in place. In very simplistic terms this includes your net of content in place with a lead capture page and an auto responder series.
  
  
• Using attraction marketing principles at all times to generate online business leads. By providing the greatest value and attractive content you'll help your niche solve it's problems and/or meet it's desires.
  
  Having a strong fondation upon which to build your beginner internet marketing business, will help you weather the likely storms that will come.
