Improving Pagerank to Generate Online Business Leads
Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11:33AM Improving your google pagerank can definitely increase the traffic to your website and can very importantly increase the credibility of your site. As a beginner internet marketer knowing how to improve your google pagerank and implementing strategies that will increase it will help you generate more online business leads. The goal of your business, right?
What exactly does pagerank mean?
Pagerank is Google’s system for ranking your web pages. A page with a higher PageRank is deemed more important and is more likely to be listed above a page with a lower PageRank. The scale used is 1 to10. A pagerank of 4 means your site is considered an authority site. To get this ranking takes lots of time and the development of lots of great quality pages that are optimized.
The following are tips to help improve your pagerank:
- Work on increasing your backlinks to your site. These are the backbone of your pagerank. Create relevant links to your site using your web of content. For example, post articles to directories that have links to your website or blog. Be sure to use keywords that you are trying to rank for on your site.
Visit my squidoo lens about an earn at home business and see how I link to my blog with the keyword beginner internet marketer, which is a keyword that I'm ranked for. Notice I've just created a backlink to my squidoo lens.
In addition, visit forums where you can post comments using a keyword that links back to your site. - Your title tag should contain your keyword.
- Pay attention to your keyword density. You neither want to use your keyword too much nor not enough. A good rule of thumb is in a 400 page article using your keyword 3 times is ideal. It should read naturally. Otherwise, this is seen as keyword stuffing and you may get penalized by google.
- Provide the best quality content when creating your pages. As an attraction marketer this should be your goal anyway. Get in the habit of putting out the best quality content and this will never be an issue for you.
- Instead of entering your URL into your browser, search Google for your site. Google is more apt to improve the ranking of a site that users seek and visit than one that gets no traffic from Google. This is a simple little thing but can make a difference.
- Create a RSS feed to your site. Each time you add new content, the RSS search engines get pinged - a good thing.
- Fix broken links that may be found on your site. There are tools that do this for you. You can use a free tool such as this broken links checker or you can purchase a subscription.
- Add alt tags to your images
- Include your site on all your correspondence, newsletters, email signature
All these things together will add to improving your google pagerank and google will find you more easily and so will your prospects.
